Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitrogen species (RNS) are implicated in various physiological and pathological processes. Among ROS and RNS, peroxynitrite (ONOO−) has attracted much special attention because of the key roles that it plays in signal transduction and antimicrobial activities.
